About Us

Who we are

BiLD Academy for Learning & Development is a supplementary education provider based in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire. We support children and young people with additional learning outside mainstream school hours, helping them gain confidence, improve their understanding, and develop positive learning habits. We believe every learner deserves to be treated with dignity and given a fair opportunity to ask questions, practise skills, and build on what they already know.

Our programmes include tuition in core school subjects as well as Arabic and Islamic studies. These areas have different aims, but each benefits from clear explanations, structured practice, patient guidance, and an environment where learners feel comfortable participating. We recognise that families seek additional learning for many reasons: a child may want more practice, need another explanation, or benefit from a steady routine that supports confidence.

A respectful and encouraging environment

Learning can feel demanding when a concept is unfamiliar or when a young person has lost confidence. An encouraging setting does not remove challenge; it makes challenge more manageable. Learners should be able to ask for clarification, make mistakes without humiliation, and understand that improvement often comes through repetition. Adults can support this by setting clear expectations, listening carefully, and giving feedback that explains what to try next.

Respect also means recognising that children are individuals. Their interests, previous experiences, strengths, and learning needs may differ. Supplementary education should respond to the learner rather than assume a single pace or method suits everyone. We aim to create space for questions, focused work, and steady progress while maintaining appropriate boundaries and routines.

Working with families and community

Families have important insight into a child’s interests, routines, and experiences. Communication helps everyone understand what a learner is working towards and where extra practice may be useful. We value conversations that are clear, constructive, and centred on the child’s learning. Questions about programmes, schedules, admissions, and fees should be discussed directly so families can make informed decisions based on current information.

Education also connects people to the wider community. Positive learning habits, respect, responsibility, and perseverance are useful far beyond a single lesson. Our work is informed by the belief that learning and personal development belong together: children should have opportunities to strengthen understanding while practising how to approach a task, respond to feedback, and take responsibility for their work.

Our commitment to clear information

A public website should help families understand who an organisation is, what it offers, and how to make contact. We aim to describe our purpose plainly and avoid promising outcomes that cannot be guaranteed. The information on this site is an introduction; current programme details, availability, staffing, safeguarding procedures, and admissions arrangements should be confirmed with BiLD Academy directly.

We also recognise the importance of privacy and safeguarding when working with children and young people. Questions or concerns should be raised through appropriate channels, and personal information should be shared carefully. We welcome respectful enquiries from families and community members who want to understand our approach and whether our current provision may meet their needs.
